There is nothing worse than having to book last-minute air travel, especially when the purpose of the trip is to attend a funeral or memorial service. Now bereaved flyers looking for sympathetic airlines offering lower fares have fewer options. One by one, airlines that used to offer special “bereavement fares” – rates about 15% below the normal last-minute booking costs – are eliminating this policy.
